Developed
in a joint venture between IBM, Modelware and Telstra (Australian
Telecom), the Telecommunication Services Data Model (TSDM)
provides a ready-made enterprise model for the
telecommunications industry.
Key to
its success is that it was designed by business people
for business people. It is not some database designer’s
vision of how Telco business staff see their business.
It was constructed for use by business users when they
define their business issues, and the data requirements
that arise from those business issues.
